Order-taker vs. real sales pro

It takes salesmanship to open a new account.

But it only takes common-sense and intelligent work to hold it.

Real sales professional knows that he must create a specialized situation, he has got to put customers in the market who didn’t feel that way when he contacted them. He makes customers realize that they are on the market.

On the other side, order-taker is looking for customers who want to buy, and if you know that someone is on the market, so does your competition knows. In the end, you are fighting on the visible market with everyone else, and very often deciding factor is the price, so be prepared for a big discounting to win that deal.

This is an excerpt from my book "Trigger Events or How to find your NEXT customer" and to find more about the book and how to order it visit my website www.alenmajer.com
